Celebrate American Heart Month and learn more about Go Red for Women in DC
February isn’t just American Heart Month – it’s our month!
This year, February is full of ways for you to Go Red and take a stand for women’s health.
Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women – and too many women, particularly our youngest most diverse women, remain unaware.
This February, we’re underscoring the urgent need to help all women ensure a healthy, positive significant future for themselves and those they care for.
It’s time to take action. Why? The price of cardiovascular disease is high and 1 in 3 women will pay that price with their life – that’s about one woman every 80 seconds.
When women come together, there is nothing we can’t achieve. It’s time to take action. Losing even one woman is simply not an option.

We can do this together!
In 2004, the Go Red for Women campaign was launched to solve a problem – too few women knew about their number one killer: cardiovascular disease. Nearly 17 years later, Go Red for Women have evolved into a global movement and is a driving force being accelerating science, advancing public health policy, addressing the multitude of gender and racial gaps for women in research, healthcare and more, as well as ensuring all women are aware of their greatest health threat, their risks and what they can do to reduce them. Good health is a journey, not a destination and we want to walk hand in hand with women throughout their lifetime as their trusted wellness partner.
The Go Red for Women experience continues to be the cornerstone of the Go Red for Women movement in local communities. This empowering gathering focuses on preventing heart disease and stroke, shares stories of people impacted by this issue and raises critically-needed funds to support research and education initiatives.
The time is now. The need is critical. Our strength is unmatched. Because there is no greater, more relentless force in the world than women united with passion and purpose.
